Finland is committed to implementing the Global Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN General Assembly (2015). One of the goals (SDG4) is quality education for all.

SDG4-JYU is an annual international participatory seminar at the Faculty of Education and Psychology presents our teaching, research, collaboration and partners. We engage with the different dimensions of educational development through research-based and practical activities. The seminar is open for all JYU students and staff, and everyone interested in education. Our partners, including schools and NGOs will present their work.

This year’s seminar focuses on the special theme of the 2021 UNESCO Global Education Monitoring Report on Non-state actors. The Incheon Declaration from 2015 calls to ensure an inclusive and equitable quality education in the formulation of SDG 4, reminding of our moral imperative to ensure every person has a right to an appropriate education of high quality. The seminar aims to encourage discussion on local, contextually relevant solutions on education.

Participation in the seminar is free of charge. Please save the date and follow the event website for updates.

Welcome to listen, discuss and take action! Registration is open!
